Q: Do you have to be Catholic to attend?

Being Catholic is not a requirement to attend St. John School. We offer a faith-based education with an emphasis on serving others in the community as we teach our students to follow in the footsteps of Christ. Catholic means universal and all-inclusive; we welcome students from a variety of religious backgrounds.

Q: How does SJS differ from other PreK-6 schools in the city?

What sets St. John School apart from other schools is our commitment to the whole child: we prioritize strong character, academic excellence, and social-emotional development. We prioritize personalized attention, while our diverse enrichment programs, from Tower Garden to Italian language, help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom. At SJS, your child will be known, supported, and inspired every step of the way.

Q: What age can a student enroll in PreK3?

Children may apply and enroll beginning at age 2 into our Toddler Classroom.

Students can begin PreK3 on or after they reach 2 years and 9 months of age.

There are two options for enrolling a child who is not 2 years 9 months:

• Guarantee your child a spot in the 2.9 class by applying and enrolling in the admissions cycle. In this case, tuition payments begin in June. The child will begin school on or after the day the child turns 2 years 9 months.

Please note, students starting at 2 years and 9 months in PreK3 MUST complete three years of preschool. Most students are recommended to repeat PreK3. This guarantees that students are 5 years old by September 1 of Kindergarten.
